The 33rd Alliance Francaise French Film Festival is back.
The 42 movies highlight the diversity of French film making, with entertaining and thoughtful movies of comedy and romance, thrillers, documentaries, and films that are politically charged. They showcase stars such as Gerald Depardieu, Catherine Deneuve, Daniel Auteuil, Fanny Ardent, and Juliette Binoche.
The Festival opens with Lost Illusions – an adaption of a classic Balzac novel, a grand period piece with lavish costumes and set designs, and a narrative of love, lust and ambition – and don’t miss The Velvet Queen – an exquisite nature film shown at the Perth Film Festival earlier this year.
Advance tickets are on sale now from www.affrenchfilmfestival.org www.lunapalace.com.auwww.palacecinemas.com.au Prices are from $17 to $22. Opening and closing nights are special soiree events costing from $40 to $50.
Brochures are available from participating theatres at Palace, Raine Square, Windsor Nedlands, Luna SX and Luna Leederville, and Camelot at Mosman Park will show four.
This is an ambitious and diverse program and runs until 6 April. Go and see some of it!
