Bikini Atoll

Happy Birthday, Styleaid!

Happy Birthday STYLEAID opened in spectacular style with a live performance of Pink’s Lets’ Get The Party Started. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the WA AIDS Foundation’s biggest fundraiser, 15 designers/stores walked down the catwalk.

Trends seen throughout were feathers, bright colours, high-octane prints, metallics and sequins. The standouts were Aurelio Costarella, AE’LKEMI, Flannel, Dilettante and Poppy Lissiman.

Aureilo Costarella

Costarella’s exquisite gowns echoed 1930’s glamour and were embellished with feathers, applique flowers and ruffles. Topped off with headpieces adorned with pom poms made of raffia.

Empire Rose

Dilettante had the most colourful and quirky collection. Both male and female models had white painted faces with garish colours,  done in asymmetric fashion, so they were almost grotesque. Each elaborate outfit was finished off with flowers that appeared to grow from the clothes.

Last down the catwalk were the candy pink creations by student designers. Using ‘Party’ as the theme the avant garde costumes looked like sugary cupcake,s with each model holding a stick of fairy floss.

The parade ended with a bang, as models and organisers fired off crackers showering the guests with shimmering squares of paper.
