A Stroll Through Freo’s Wonderful Heritage

The annual Fremantle Heritage Festival is on again, when Freo hums in celebration of both its local history and the thriving modern city it’s become.

For me, a Festival highlight is the Vintage Vixens & Vamps Fair. I always make a point of going along to see if I can find another vintage gem.

This year, my dream find was a gorgeous vintage felt hat circa 1950’s with diamante trim. Sadly, the Vintage Vixens Fair is over for another year. But plenty of other joys are still in store.

Visitors can take a walk back in time through Fremantle’s Historic West End Buildings, see pre-WWII motorcycles in action on the Arthur Grady Motorbike Ride, decipher the mystery behind cemetery monuments or trawl Fremantle’s café-laden streets for coffee, cakes, art, books and funky clothes while listening to fine street musicians.
