Escape the madness of this silly season by creating the quiet calm beauty of a Lotus flower. Feel yourself literally floating as you meditate in this divine posture.
Sit on the floor with your legs crossed . Take your right foot in your hands and slowly place it on your left inner thigh. Reach your toes toward the left hip joint. Pick up your left foot and place it on your right thigh as close to the crease of your hip as you can. This is very advanced so please don’t force yourself into this posture.
Lengthen your spine as you imagine a long string is being pulled from the top of your head. Draw your shoulder blades onto your back and engage your tummy muscles. Place your hands on your knees with your palms facing up. Join your middle finger and thumb to touch together. You are now in full lotus position.
Gently close your eyes and hold this pose for 5 to 10 slow deep breaths. Calm your mind and relax as you begin to notice your thoughts drifting by like white fluffy clouds…Bringing you into a state of zen and complete relaxation.
