The lure of helping endangered Asian critters drew a sizeable crowd of generous souls to a garden party fundraiser for Perth-based charity For The Animals.
Guests mingled in the exquisite fragranced garden at the Perth home of Despina and Louis Christos where they were treated to scrumptious canapés and wines from the family vineyard.
For The Animals founder, Rebecca Tilbrook was thrilled at the turnout, providing much-needed dosh for preservation of Southeast Asian wildlife.
“We had 100 guests, half of whom were completely new to our organisation. It was beautifully catered and decorated,” she said.
Guests were treated to a performance by young opera singer Toby Collins. Later goodies were auctioned including Brinkhaus Jewellery and a diamond ring from Subi Antiques and Fine Jewellery.
During Rebecca’s speech, she spoke of her passion for helping animals. Her advice to guests: when giving your hard-earned bucks to support a charity, don’t be afraid to ask the hard questions.
“No matter who you support, ask questions!”
For the Animals has many more fun fundraising events ahead, including a High Tea hosted by the generous Christos family in October.
